From pottery to boot camp, it’s all go at Delvera!

Delvera farm village, situated in the beautiful Stellenbosch wine route, has a collection of over 20 independently owned businesses that offer a wide range of attractions for kids and adults alike. The village is thrilled to invite everyone to its first annual Family Week in the last week of April 2011. The Delvera Family Week promises to offer plenty of fun for the whole family – young and old - and is the perfect way to end off the Easter school holidays. 

The programme for the week includes pottery workshops, Kids Boot Camp parties, cooking classes, Bird of Prey Demonstrations, puppet shows and much more! Activities on the farm start on 25 April 2011 and end on 28 April 2011 with daily activities starting at 11:00 and ending at 16:00. Entry to Delvera is free and each activity is priced individually with prices ranging from R5 to R120.  

Family Week Programme / Activities:

25 April 2011

11h00 Kids Clay & Pottery Workshop: Each child will complete two projects, which include working on the potter’s wheel. All crafts will be baked and available for collection two weeks later. R120 per child. Groups of minimum 10, maximum 15. Ages 7-12 years.

11h00 Kitchen Kids: Learn to help mom make yummy healthy sandwiches and energy bars in funky shapes and sizes for your lunchbox. R50 per child including lunch. Groups of 15-20 kids. Ages 7-12 years.

11h00 Garden Workshops: Get your hands dirty and have some green fingered fun

in one of three fun workshops. Join in on the Earthworm Farm Workshop (for the little ones), Kitchen Composter workshop (for moms and dads) or the dog poop composter workshop (for all animal lovers and pet owners).

11h00 Olive-tastic: Flavour, bottle and take home your own olives on this tasty workshop. This one is for the whole family. Design your own label for your brand of olives. R50 per person (includes a free olive and olive oil tasting).

11h00 Bird of Prey Demonstration / Show: For the whole family.  Learn about the majestic birds of prey that call South Africa their home.  R5 per person.

28 April 2011

11h00 Puppet Show: Rapunzel. The whole family will enjoy this classic fairy

tale. R40 per person.

Daily activities – between 11h00 and 15h00 - will include:

Kids’ Bootcamp: Little soldiers can enroll for a few hours of army training fun. Booking essential.

“Make your own” Workshops: Learn to make your own earrings and bracelet (R50 per child), gift card (R25 per child) or sand painting (R30 per child)

Go Carts: Kids will enjoy the thrill of these fun cart rides. R10 per child.

Spinning & weaving demonstrations: Learn an age old craft in a new and exciting way.

Decorate your own cupcake: Come decorate your own cupcake. R20 per child (includes a juice).

Face painting: Kiddies will be transformed in to whimsical butterflies, roaring lions, super heroes and more. R10 per child.

Pony-cart rides: Come meet our resident pony and enjoy a ride around the farm. R20 per child.

Bike rental: Rent bikes for the entire family and go for an out ride on the farm.

Family Picnics: Order a delicious picnic from Delvera’s Simonsberg Café and enjoy lunch on the lawns. For more information call: 021 884 4353.
