Mass for Four Voices – William Byrd (a capella)
William Byrd (1543 – 1623) wrote a number of Masses for a differing number of voice parts. Not much is known about the composer, other than that his musical reputation is thought to have been what saved him, as a Roman Catholic, living in Britain during a time of anti-Papism.
