Music in the Cathedral 2010
Solemn Sung Eucharist on the occasion of the Dean’s Farewell:
“Mass of Light” by Alan Wilson, is a work for choir and organ and will be performed by the University Cathedral Singers and Cathedral Choristers.
The ‘Mass of Light’ is the largest of four Communion settings by Alan Wilson (b. 1947). As a composer, Wilson is influenced by early baroque music and also by contemporary popular and folk idioms, while remaining closely linked to the Anglican choral tradition.
