UJ Arts Academy Sundowner Concerts 2010: Trio Broz
Trio Broz is composed of sisters Barbara (violin) and Giada (violin and viola) and their brother Klaus (cello). They began to play together in 1993 during an international summer course AMC (Austrian Masterclasses) of chamber music, organized by teachers at the Mozarteum in Salzburg where they studied.
The siblings all graduated in Chamber Music from the Academy of St Cecilia in Rome and at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Florence summa cum laude. Following graduation they were awarded a scholarship at the University of Arts Mozarteum in Salzbury (Austria) where they perfected their Austrian classical music repertoire, especially the works of Haydn, Sussmayr, Mozart and Schubert.
The trio has performed across the world and participated in numerous prestigious international festivals.
In 2009 they won 2nd Prize at the Best Classic Music CD Award with their recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, Bruno Giuranna’s version for strings.
