George Male Voice Choir
The George Male Voice Choir (George Mannekoor) was founded in 1982 and conducted by acclaimed composer-arranger Dalene Steenkamp-Brits for the past 30 years until her retirement in 2012, when she was succeeded by Jan-Erik Swart.
The Choir has been described as “Something precious” (historian Prof. Bun Booyens), “Extraordinary” (author Etienne le Roux), “One of the best choirs in the country (Dr John Pauw), “Undoubtedly the best Male Voice Choir in the country” (organist composer Prof. Pieter van der Westhuizen).
They are sometimes referred to as “George’s best export product.”
