The School of Music & Conservatory at North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus) offers exceptional instruction in western classical music, jazz and African music.

Their programme offers students the opportunity to engage in music performance, music education, musicology, music technology and research. Performing ensembles include a newly established university wind ensemble, string ensemble, choir, marimba and jazz ensembles. Students also have the opportunity to participate in small chamber ensembles. Their music technology lab is equipped with some of the latest cutting edge hardware and software including the industry standard Pro Tools.

In addition to the performing ensembles, students have the opportunity to develop their compositional, research and music education skills within our various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees including masters and doctoral studies. The staff is comprised of world class performers, educators and researchers, all committed to providing our students with the best possible education and training as they embark on their careers.
