Stellenbosch was alive and well with the sound of PIANOS last night! Not one or two, but TEN!
The 8 new baby grand pianos purchased for the University of Stelllenbosch Department of Music was "inaugurated" last night. They joined the two big concert grand pianos on stage for an extraordinary musical moment, when 9 of South Africa's top pianists (Liezl-Maret Jacobs , Wessel van Wyk , Albie van Schalkwyk, Franklin Larey, Francois du Toit, Luis Magalhães, Bennie van Eeden, Simone Kirsch & Nina Schumann) and US pianist, Lori Sims took to the stage for a 10 piano rendition of Tschakovsky's 1812…

If you're in and around Cape Town, take your family to the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre Family Festival this Saturday 13 March from 10h00-15h00 for a day of music and magic. All the Centre Orchestras will perform and Bellville High School Wind Orchestra and Westerford Wind Band are invited guests to the event.There will be food stalls, exhibits by different music shops, a magic show and much, much more.
